The Story Of Jenn Air Company Microwaves

Microwaves in The States and the world have made life simpler for mankind when cooking or warming up food or drinks. Microwave ovens have an intriguing history from the first one invented to the way it was invented.

The first microwave heating device that was officially documented using the term microwave was in 1931 when it was mentioned in The Telegraph and Telephone Journal. It is fascinating that a mathematics person known as James Clark Maxwell was able to predict an existence of electromagnetic waves as early as 1864 applying math equations. In around 1890 the first person shown the existence of electromagnetic waves using an UHF region.

In the 1970s they became affordable for middle-class Americans. The corporation Jenn Air was created by a man named Louis J. Jenn. This firm was established in the late 1940s. When it was founded the name was Jenn-Air Products. This is a company that originally built fans for big buildings (the official name is industrial fans).

They developed into creating kitchen appliances like ovens and stove ranges. After a few years the enterprise name became Jenn-Air. They got into creating refrigerators in the 60s then microwaves became popular and they began to build and market these up to this very day.

The founder Louis J. Jenn has a memorial park in Indianapolis, Indiana. Maytag acquired Jenn-Air in the early 1980s and they are currently owned by Whirlpool corporation as of 2006. Jenn Air still makes microwaves, but now the ones that are built into the walls and countertops are what they concentrate on.

One of the current models being sold is the 30 inch over the range Jenn Air microwave convection oven. Convection means that it is a microwave heating device that works as a regular microwave and also works as an oven type that cooks food with the speed of a microwave but the food comes out browned as it would out of a standard oven.

Jenn Air also has 24 and 27 inch microwaves. The 30 inch Jenn Air microwave oven is available in 5 colors. The 24 inch is an under counter product with a drawer design. These are not the cheap microwaves you will see at a Walmart etc, but these are quality microwaves that last a lot longer and are produced with better parts.

The Jenn Air microwave is worth the price and if you purchase one of these you won't be sorry.
